Thousands of locals took to the streets in Maulapur Municipality of Rautahat on June 23, to protest against the alleged conspiracy of anti-development elements and reactionaries. On the eve of the fifth municipal council of Maulapur municipality, locals took to the street saying that some anti-development elements are trying to influence the municipality by creating various disputes. Mayor Rinakumari Sah said that the Maulapur Municipality has fixed the date for the fifth budget session of the fiscal year 2021/22 like every year. As per the decision of the Municipal Executive Board, district and local guests have been invited to make the upcoming (June 24) Municipal Council a success, and publicity was also being spread in various media.
Gauri Shankar Jaiswal, deputy mayor of Maulapur, stated that some local representatives who had misused the funds of the municipality in the past and anti-development elements were engaged in spreading false information about the municipality.
