Dalit rights activists and students burn education minister's effigy in Kathmandu

Rights activists and students burned the effigy of Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha in Kathmandu on Thursday evening accusing him of expressing support for an individual accused of caste-based discrimination. Nepal National Oppressed Student Association and Dalit rights activists burned the minister's effigy at a protest in Maitighar Mandala. Police intervened and disrupted the protest program.
