Police arrested 15 persons including Shambhu Bhattarai, chairperson of Budhanilkantha Municipality Ward No. 12 on the charge of padlocking the road department in Kathmandu. They had reached Baber Mahal on June 27 demanding immediate blacktopping of the road.
According to the police, they were released after some time. Deputy Superintendent of Police Daksh Basnet of Baneshwor Police Circle said that they released the ward chairman and others after discussions.
The road in Kappan, Kharibot road area of Ward No. 12 has been damaged since 2015. The people's representative has drawn the attention of the road department to instruct the construction businessmen to start work immediately.
