The effigy of Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha was burnt in Chiple Dhunga of Pokhara under the leadership of the Caste System Abolition Front of Gandaki Province on June 29. They protested against the role of Minister Shrestha in the Rupa Sunar incident and caste discrimination.
Police have arrested three persons while burning the effigy. Among those arrested are the front member Kiran Nepali, Janata Samajwadi Party leaders Netra Chapagain and Resham Sapkota.
