Local women and Dalits under the leadership of Prabha Singh, a women's rights activist have been staging a sit-in at the main gate of the municipality alleging irregularities in the amount of money coming to the municipality for the past three days since June 27. They demanded that a budget of Rs 1.5 million should be allocated for women in each ward and Rs 1.5 million for Dalits in each ward and a complete set of gas stoves, including a set of cylinders, for each household in the municipality.
For the past three days, local women have been protesting at the main gate of the municipality. Prabha Singh claimed that the amount coming for women's rights was irregular.
