Students of the opposition coalition burnt the effigies of President Bidhyadevi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at New Baneshwor in Kathmandu on June 30 against the parlaiment dissolution. The Nepali Congress, the CPN-Maoist Center, the CPN-UML's Madhav Kumar Nepal group, the Janata Samajwadi Party's Upendra Yadav group, and the Rashtriya Janamorcha's student organization jointly staged the demonstrations and burnt the effigies.

Police intervened and snatched the effigies from them. Lately, the student organizations of the opposition alliance have intensified the anti-government protests.
