The United Students' Organization closed petrol pumps in Kavre in protest of the recent rise in prices of petroleum products on July 14. The Nepali Congress, Maoist Center and Samajwadi Party's Baburam-Upendra affiliated student organization closed petrol pumps in Banepa, Dhulikhel, Panauti and other areas of the district.
According to Nripesh Bade, president of NSU Kavre, the petrol pumps of the district including Shree Chandeshwari Ayal Store, Narayan Ayal Store, Chandi Binayak Ayal Store and K Sagarmatha Ayal Store have been closed since Wednesday morning. ANNFSU (Revolutionary) Kavre Vice President Vijay Lama said that the petrol pump was closed demanding immediate reversal of the price hike.
