Police accused of beating up protesting women in Humla

Police allegedly assaulted the agitating women of Syada in Simkot Rural Municipality-8  on July 19 at the District Administration Office over drinking water sources. Juna Budha, 33, complained that the women of Ward No. 8 were beaten up by the police after they did not allow drinking water from the river Banaurya Kal in their area to be brought to Simkot Rural Municipality-7 Dharapori. They alleged that the police assaulted them when they reached the administration office against the citizens of Ward No. 7 Dharapori who have been trying to claim the land and resources they ( citizens of Simkot Rural Municipality-8)have been using for generations.
