Nepal Teachers Federation stage hunger strike with 34-point-demands in Kathmandu

The Nepal Teachers Federation, which started the agitation demanding 34 points, is carrying out the fourth phase of the agitation. Teachers affiliated with the federation are on a one-day hunger strike from 8 a.m. on July 30 stating that the government ignored the demand of the federation.

Teachers are on hunger strike at the entrance of the municipality, education development and coordination unit and the state-based Ministry of Social Development. Meanwhile, the central officials are on the strike at Maitighar. According to the federation, about 3,000 teachers have participated in the relay fast.

The federation has been demanding an increase in the salaries of primary school teachers and staff, the issuance of a federal education act, vaccination against covid, compensation to the families of teachers who have died due to covid, and others.
