Students studying at the BSc Horticulture Institute affiliated with the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences of Tribhuvan University padlocked the Mahendra Ratna Multipurpose Campus in Ilam demanding to ensure public service in the standardized agricultural service groups (horticulture, agricultural extension, crop protection, crop development, soil science) and ensuring graduation in other subjects including horticulture in the University of Agriculture and Forest Sciences.

The students padlocked the office of the Campus Head, Assistant Campus Head and the Horticulture Department. For a long time, the students have been agitating for demanding that the door of the Public Service Commission be opened for the students to enter the public service and study at the postgraduate level.
