The all-party struggle committee has staged a demonstration in Rautahat over the selection of ward chairpersons for ward 2 and 7 of the municipality. The positions for chairpersons in these wards remained vacant after the elected chairperson died. The struggle committee have been demanding that the responsibility of chairperson for these wards be handed over to one of the elected local representatives temporarily to carryout the work of the ward. They have resorted to protest accusing the municipality chairperson of ignoring their demands.
