Authorities have ignored the investigation and legal action against Hira Waiba, a male employee of the Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences in Hetauda, who was accused of sexually abusing two female professors and misbehaving with other professors. Doctors Niti Bhat and Alina Karna working in the academy were sexually abused by the accused under the influence of alcohol
And four days after a written complaint was lodged against Waiba, the institute's professors have now become discouraged and skeptical as the concerned body has not initiated any investigation. According to academy sources, Waiba is close to Chief Minister Dormani Poudel. Sources said that he had threatened the professors saying that no one could harm him as he was the Chief Minister's man.
Eleven members of the academy had lodged a written complaint at the academy, hospital management committee, district administration office, office of the chief minister and council of ministers, Hetauda sub-metropolis on August 1 demanding legal action against Waiba for allegedly sexually abusing female doctors and insulting other professors. Earlier, two female doctors had written a separate letter to the vice-chancellor. He had also lodged a complaint against Vaiva at the police office for 'indecent behaviour'.
