A teenager died in suspicious circumstances in Nawalparsi East on August 6. The deceased is a 17-year-old girl from Ram Gram Municipality-12 of Nawalparasi West. She had gone to a hotel with her 17-year-old male friend to Hotel Shahi palace in Binayee Triveni Rural Municipality-6. She fell ill after staying in a separate room at the hotel and was taken to Chaupatta based Martyrs memorial Community hospital where the doctor declared her dead.
Police started an investigation into the incident under inspector Hikmat Thapa citing the girl's death as suspicious. The deceased's body was sent to Prithvichandra District hospital for postmortem. Police have arrested the owner of the hotel and have taken the motorcycle belonging to the deceased girl's male friend into control. Police are meanwhile, searching for the boy who is on the run.

The father of the victim lodged a complaint with the West Nawalparasi Police against the accused child on August 9 alleging him of raping and murdering his daughter.
