The victim's side lodged a complaint of caste discrimination and attempted murder at the District Police Office, Kalikot on August 6. The uncle of 18-year-old victim Haste Chandara of Khandachakra Municipality-10 accuses 22-year-old Tapendra Shahi and 20-year-old Madhu Shahi of the same place on the charge of passing demeaning caste-based comments and attacking the victim with a sharp weapon in a public place on August 3. The victim who sustained head and chest injuries was referred to Nepalgunj on August 5 after he could not be treated at the District Hospital, Kalikot.
