Students protesting at the Central Campus of Midwestern University vandalized the vehicle of Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Nanda Bahadur Singh. While VC Singh was participating in a program organized at the Mid-Western University's School of Management (MUSOM) on August 10, the students vandalized the parked vehicle. University Registrar Prof Dr Narayan Prasad Poudel said that the Vice Chancellor's vehicle was vandalized twice. According to him, the stone was pelted during the interaction in MUSOM and the axe was stuck in the evening while it was parked at the residence. Some students have been injured in a clash with police while VC returning from the interaction. Among the injured are Topendra Poudel, coordinator of Midwestern University ANNFSU (Revolutionary), Zakka Bahadur Shahi, former chairperson of Independent Students' Union and Tikaram Dhakal.

Four student organizations at the university have been agitating for conducting online examinations, increasing scholarship quotas, investigating public statements by university officials, and setting a date for immediate elections of the Independent Students' Union. Some daytime students are on a relay fast.
