Local youths blocked the Janakpurdham-Yudkoha road section between Janakpurdham 1 and 16 at Pulchawki in Janakpurdham on August 29, protesting against the lack of maintenance of dilapidated roads for years. They blocked the road by burning tires and spreading bamboo.
Kisan Sah, vice-president of Pulchowk Youth Club, said that they were forced to join the agitation as the concerned bodies were not interested in repairing the big potholes in the road. According to the locals, there is a problem with puddles due to continuous rains and an increased risk of accidents due to the poor condition of the roads.
