NSU and Tarun Dal stage massive motorcycle rally in Chitwan demanding to revoke the action against Bikas Koirala

2021-09-01

The NSU and Tarun Dal protested at the Congress Chitwan party office, demanding that the disciplinary action against former district president Bikas Koirala be revoked. Before submitting a memorandum to the current district president, Jit Narayan Shrestha, they organized a massive motorcycle rally. Bikash Koirala was forced to withdraw his active membership in the party after running against central party president Sushil Koirala in the second Constituent Assembly election in Chitwan Constituency No. 3 in 2013.

Protesters allege that, despite the fact that the party's constitution states that it will be automatically revoked after 6 years of disciplinary action, the action against Bikas Koirala has not been revoked after 8 years. Young leader Surya Hari Marhattha warned that the election of the Nepali Congress would not be held in Chitwan without the active membership of Bikas Koirala.
