Family members of a 16-year-old girl lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat Susta) on September 2 alleging that the girl was raped by a 19-year-old man of Kawasoti Municipality-3.

DSP Dilip Kumar Giri of the District Police Office Nawalparasi (East Bardaghat Susta) informed INSEC representative that the victim's mother had lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the accused had repeatedly abused her and raped her since August 24 by blackmailing her with a video.

He said that a search operation was underway as the accused was absconding after the incident and police were investigating the incident.

The victim has been examined at Bharatpur District Hospital, Chitwan on September 3.
