The Share Market Reform Struggle Committee staged a demonstration in Kathmandu demanding the resignation of Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari. The committee alleged that the overall share market has not been able to move forward as the NRB has brought policy programs to trap the very existence of the capital market.
They have written to the NRB, Ministry of Finance, Securities Board and Nepal Stock Exchange saying that the policy brought by NRB and the irresponsibility of the incumbents have demoralized the stock market investors. NRB invested Rs. 4/12 crore in loans of 'margin' nature which has become an obstacle to the development of the capital market. They even called for the immediate repeal of the limit.
