The locals clashed with Nepal Police at Bhattimod Road in Biratnagar on September 7 protesting against the death of 37 year old Bhim Kamat in Police Custody on September 5. The deceased died two days after he was arrested on the charge of carrying marijuana. 

The protestors tried to block the transportation in Bhattimod Road, Biratnagar, which led to a clash between the locals and the police. The protestors called death suspicious and demanded the formation of a high-level investigation committee, punishment for responsible police officers and compensation to the family of the deceased.
