Pradip Yadav, a 40-year-old resident of Mithila Bihari municipality-4, allegedly attempted rape on a 25-year-old woman from Chorakoyapur on September 8, which was later settled in 5 lakhs by Panchayat involving jJaisilal Bhinwar ward chairperson of Sahid municipality-2, local youth Shatrudhan Paswan, and other local people on the same day of the incident.

According to the victim, the accused attempted to rape her by entering her home and then fled due to the loud noise and resistance from the victim, and he was also seen fleeing by the neighbours. The victim further said that she was threatened not to go for the health check-up and offered 5 lakhs. Shortly after the incident, police arrived on the scene and conducted an investigation. The ward chairperson claimed that he was not present at the rape incident settlement meeting.
