Women right activists protested against the mayor of Itahari, Dwarikalal Chaudhary for misbehaving by using foul words to women who came to access service in the metropolitan office. The activists padlocked Mayor's office on September 22. They accused Mayor of disrespecting a woman who came to access the service. The protesting women group also submitted a memorandum to metropolitan demanding punishment to Mayor for misbehaving along  with a warning to do phase-wise protest if the mayor isn't punished.  Earlier as well, the mayor was highly criticized publicly for his behavior issues including his warning to break  nose cartilage  of a journalist, and other issues related to disrespecting the women.
