Province 1, Sunsari, Inaruwa
Employees, teachers and support workers of 84 Child Development Center, staged a sit-in at Inaruwa Municipal office demanding the remuneration set by the Government of Nepal through the annual budget announcement of the Fiscal Year 2078/07. The sit-in started since September 20 and still continuing for 3 days. The demonstrators claimed that the municipality denied to implement the agreed upon equal pay for equal work and rather discriminated, as well as denied to pay the minimum wages.
The federal government has secured monthly Rs.15,000 minimum remuneration from the ongoing fiscal year's budget. They allege that the delay in the implementation of the increased remuneration is due to the lack of counseling from the province and local government.
