Province 1, Jhapa, Bhadrapur
The Bhadrapur customs office has come to a halt, and revenue collection has been hampered, following the start of agitation by Bhadrapur traders and businessmen. They have become agitated as a result of the Revenue Investigation Office, Itahari's intervention. Carrying placards, agitated traders in front of the customs office gate on September 23 chanted slogans such as "Stop grandstanding and interference in revenue investigation, allow entrepreneurs to work, do not cause unnecessary grief to entrepreneurs."
Traders retaliated on September 21 after a team led by Revenue Investigation Officer Ramesh Ojha took control of the clothes and carts within 50 meters of the customs. Even after presenting the invoice and related documents, they accuse the team of seizing their clothes. The victim claimed that there were no irregularities in the counting of goods in front of Revenue Investigation Officer Ojha and that the revenue refused to release the goods. On September 22, the agitating traders and businessmen handed over a memorandum to the Jhapa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bhadrapur Municipality-5 Ward Office.
