Mahesh Rai, chief of the Salpasilicho Rural Municipality is accused of assaulting Man Bahadur Khatri, Ward Chairperson of Ward No. 2, over a salary allowance dispute of Bhavindra Karki, who works at the temporary Covid Hospital and Kulung Health Post in Ward No. 2.

According to Khatri, he went to meet Rai along with the locals of Ward No. 2 on the issue of non-receipt of salary by the health workers, However, after failing to meet the chairperson and chief administrative officer, they left the application at the rural municipality and returned to Kulung. Khatri accuses Rai of assaulting him on the way back to Kulung.

UML Bhojpur has condemned the incident and demanded action against the perpetrators, stating that the ward chairman, who is also a member of the UML district committee, was assaulted.
