Employees of Surkhet Valley Drinking Water Consumers Association, which has been supplying drinking water to Surkhet Valley, the capital of Karnali, are on a strike since October 2 demanding payment for their work. The employees allege that they have not been paid for works completed in the previous financial year. They further stated that it is uncomfortable to work when suppliers do not provide materials. Also, the employees said that they were agitated as they could not get salary even in the face of Dashain. The organization has 57 employees. ‘
