Alisha Shah, a 17-year-old student of Deepajyoti School in Baijnath Rural Municipality-1 of Banke, had committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Gavar on July 22. A week after the incident, police arrested 40-year-old principal Daman Pandey of the school on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's family. Police also recovered a suicide note written by Alisha, which states, "I would rather die than ruining our family's reputation." At the end of the note, she also mentioned that she is very scared.
The police investigation found that Alisha and Pandey used to have unusual conversations on social media. Pandey has been providing free dresses and books, recharging mobile phones and tempting her to buy laptops," said the deceased's father. The family members of Shah claim that Pandey has sexually abused their minor daughter by deceiving and luring her.
