Leaders and cadres of the Janamat Party staged a sit-in in front of the District Police Office, Dhanusha, demanding the release of their cadres arrested on the charge of publicly harassing the Acting Chief of Nepal Drinking Water and Sewerage Office in Janakpurdham. Police arrested the 30 party cadres who were in the sit-in protest. Dhanusha Police Spokesperson and DSP Jitendra Basnet said that 10 people were arrested on the charge of abusing the office chief for investigation. He said that the protesters were called inside for discussion.
Janamat Party cadres, who reached the office on October 21 with sticks and bamboo sticks, took the acting office chief Rajeshwar Kushwaha under control and took him around Janakpurdham Sub-metropolis on foot. They covered Kushwaha's body with mud and tore his shirt. They alleged that Kushwaha did not show any interest even after repeatedly drawing attention to the fact that the work was not carried out by digging the road.
