Province 1, Morang, Biratnagar, Ward 8
A woman from Biratnagar Metropolitan-8 was beaten by four men on October 5 accusing her of witchcraft. The women mentioned that locals Mustakim Miya, Sagir Miya, Kabir Miya and Habibul Miya accused her of witchcraft after their four-year-old grandson of Habibul fell sick. The women sent the complain through the post office after the police initially denied to take the complain in person. She said that, police suggested her to come to agreement with perpetrators as they have political access.
The spokesperson of District Police Office, Mornag said that the complain sent 5 days back has reached the office. However, they are unable to process it as the victim has not come to office for verification.
