Police have arrested 41-year-old Mahendra Rai of Dharan Sub-metropolitan city-15 in Sunsari on Monday evening on the charge of beating his wife, 34-year-old Chhunku Magar (Rai) to death. Chhunku who sustained serious injury after being beaten by Mahendra died while undergoing treatment at Ghopa hospital. 

Police deployed immediately after being reported about the death in the hsopital arrested Mahendra. Police are further investigating the inicident.
