Students led by the UML-affiliated ANNFSU staged a protest in Butwal on November 11 against the Nepal Oil Corporation's fuel price hike from November 10. They staged the protest by blocking the highway demanding the return of the price hike.
The corporation has increased the price of diesel, petrol and kerosene by Rs 3 per litre and LP gas by Rs 75 per cylinder. Secretary of ANNFSU-Rupendehi, Prakash Parajuli, said that the highway has been blocked since 9 am to put pressure on the government to return the price hike as the government is trying to hurt the people by increasing the price of fuel.
