Law practitioners who were staging demonstrations demanding the resignation of Chalendra Samsher Rana, chief justice of the supreme court clashed with the supporters of Rana on November 12. The police arrested five demonstrators including three women. The police took control of the clash when it got physical and the demonstrators started chanting slogans. After the police took them under control, the bar officials have been sitting in a sit-in outside the supreme court.
