CPN (Makwanpur) led by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)  staged a torch in Hetauda against the increase in the price of petroleum products. The rally that started from Hetauda's Chowkitol on November 12 reached Simachowk via Buddhachowk and turned into a corner rally. Addressing the corner meeting, a central member of Biplav and Makwanpur in-charge Nayan said that they would be forced to close Nepal on November 16 if the price hike is not reversed by November 15.

According to Biplav Makwanpur, torch rallies were staged in different parts of the district on November 12. The CPN (Maoist) has announced a program of struggle against the price hike of petroleum products. By issuing a press release, the CPN (Maoist) has announced the program of phased agitation. The CPN (Maoist) has announced the Nepal Bandha on November 16, the last day of the protest program.
