Law practitioners stage sit-in protest at supreme court premises

2021-11-14

Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kathmandu, Ward 11

Law practitioners who have been protesting for two weeks, now have started a sit-in protest in the Supreme Court from November 14 to stop Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra at the main entrance. On November 12, the legal practitioners staged a protest with the aim of barring Chief Justice Jabbar from entering. They were not allowed to enter by the security personnel but today they have broken through the security cordon and reached the supreme court premises.

Chief Justice Jabra entered the Supreme Court from another gate after the protesting lawyers tried to stop him at the gate of the court on November 12. Law practitioners have said that they will hold a sit-in at the alternative gates today as well.
