Law practitioners and the police clashed in front of the supreme court in Kathmandu when the law practitioners tried to get inside the supreme court and the police tried to stop them. Police charged batons on the protestors that injured some law practitioners. Police presence in the court premises has been increased after the lawyers of Kathmandu staged a sit-in. Advocates of the Nepal Bar Association have gathered at the Supreme Court to protest against Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra. 

Earlier, only the Central Committee of the Nepal Bar Association had been staging sit-ins in the Supreme Court. Advocates of the bar unit of Kavre District Court near the Kathmandu Valley have also joined the agitation demanding Jabra's resignation.
