Dissatisfied local and five-party alliance padlocked the office of Kamal Dev Yadav, ward chairperson of Siraha Lahan municipality-24. The ward chairperson shares that he doesn't know the exact reason for the padlock. After the padlock was not lifted for a long time, Chairman Yadav held a press conference in Lahan on November 15 and called on the dissidents to sit for discussion. Saying that the service recipients have been affected due to the continuous padlock, Ward Chairman Yadav has requested to sit in the discussion. Before that, ward chairman Yadav has been working in the ward secretary's room since November 14.
He said that after the local level election, street drinking water has been supplied to various counties of Govindapur, the largest ward of the city, based on priority and need. In addition, basic needs development plans have been selected for the current fiscal year in the missing villages. He further added that it is not right to criticize the plans before it has even been implemented.
Residents of Govindapur had been protesting alleging discrimination in development. Locals have not allowed even tractors to ply on the potholed road since last July. Ward Chairman Yadav claimed that time was set twice to discuss the issue, but the mayor did not meet the first time and those who blocked the road for the second time did not come to the discussion.
