Police arrested a 72-year-old man of Rajpur municipality-9, Bhimapur on the charge of raping a 14-year-old minor. According to the police, the accused raped the victim on November 9, when the victim went to the accused house for treatment. The accused absconded the scene after another patient saw him raping the victim.

The victim had been going there for a year for treatment of her epilepsy.  According to the police investigation, the old man has been treating with herbs for 15 years. Prior to this, he worked as a wage laborer and mason in the village. 

The accused has been treating a person with epilepsy, nausea, headache, and snakebite with herbs in his house for 15 years, according to police. However, police said that there was no formal study on herbs. 

The accused used to take Rs 5,000 for one bite, Rs 5,000 for sinus, and Rs 8,000 for deer. Similarly, he used to see the sick only on Tuesday, said Police Chief Karki. The District Police Office, Bardiya has requested to contact the police if any victim has been injured. The accused had been living in the same house with his two wives.
