Leaders including Kishori Sah 'Kamal', who is also a state MP (CPN-UML), staged a protest rally in Janakpurdham on November 20 saying that party leader Raghuvir Mahaseth had acted arbitrarily. Mahaseth, who is also a member of the party's permanent committee, staged a protest led by state MP Sah, saying that he had chosen the delegates of the General Convention arbitrarily.

The protest rally against Mahaseth was taken out from the railway station and ended at the UML party office. During the protest, UML leaders and cadres also chanted slogans against Mahaseth.
