Laxmi Pariyar, a 70, and her daughter Aarati Pariyar,40, of Sunsari Duhabi municipality-5 were physically assaulted on November 9, in front of the area police office by Roshan Kaski of Dubahi municiaplity-4, his brother Rabi Karki and his brother-in-law Santosh Karna. The Victims claimed that police did not arrest the people who were involved in the incident.
According to the victim's the accused used demeaning caste-based slurs and while assaulting them, so the victims and the Dalit leaders have started struggle for justice to be served to those dalit women. The victims claimed that they were forced to fighrt for justice since, the police did not arrest the accused even after they lodged a complained against the assailants.
One of the victim stated that she is willing to do everything to get justice. Dalit leader Gyan Bahadur Pariyar said that all the dalits were forced to unite and advance the struggle for justice in a phased manner as they were trying to restrict justice through force and money. "The police are silent on the inhumane incident that took place in front of the police, so we will never allow the temple of peace to become a canteen for criminals," he said. Ratna Pariyar, chairperson of Pariyar Sewa Samaj Morang, said that it was sad that the police were not serious even in the face of inhumane incidents.
