Police took the locals under control who went to stage a sit-in at the Road Department demanding action against the contractor who neglected the work of Charikot-Mude road extension and blacktop in Dolakha. They were arrested after they started chanting slogans in front of the department gate. The locals and stakeholders of the area had staged a sit-in at the Chakupat-based department of Lalitpur on November 7 saying that the construction work should have been completed by 2074 BS.
They shouted slogans to blacktop the Charikot-Mude road as soon as possible. Earlier, during a discussion with the Charikot-Mude Road Expansion Struggle Committee on November 6, Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Rabindranath Shrestha had said that he would break the agreement with the contractor for not constructing the road on time.
