Police intervened with the protesting students of Grade 12 on December 12. Dissatisfied with the results of the Class 12 examination made public by the National Examination Board, the law students have been protesting at the board's office for a week now. The police administration is accused of charging batons and stones at the student who were demonstrating in a peaceful sit-in at Province Examination Management Board Office, Pokhara. Some students were even arrested.

Students' organizations including ANNFSU, ANNFSU Revolutionary, Nepal Students Union, Samajwadi Vidyarthi Union and ANNFSU (Sixth) have issued a joint statement demanding free treatment of the injured students and immediate release of the arrested students.

The students accused the board of giving them fewer marks and also alleged the examiner of being negligent. They have been demanding that their answer scripts be re-examined and that the time and financial cost be reduced. The students are worried that it will take a long time and they will be confused about their future as it is a mandatory rule to check the marks and integers first before re-checking the answer sheet. As it costs up to Rs 3,000 to re-examine a subject, they have demanded to reconsider it.

Law faculty classes were started in seven schools in Gandaki this year. About 200 students from seven schools participated in the examination. According to the student, the grade of the student who topped the exam has only got 'B Plus'.
