The cadres of the Janamat Party clashed with police at Mirchaiya and Golbazar of Siraha district on December 26. The party had called for a strike in Siraha district demanding the release of their party member who was arrested after the complaint from Aaurahi rural municipality. The local farmers looted the wheat seeds on December 21, after the local government delayed the distribution of seeds on the grant.
The rural administration lodged a complaint at the District Police Office of vandalizing the government asset and loot against Mithilesh Yadav, Tej Narayan Yadav, and Ram Nath Yadav from ward number 2 and Supravin Yadav from ward number 5 among whom Mithilesh was arrested by police.
Police had to intervene after the protestors vandalized a total of five vehicles at Mirchiya and Golbazar. The Police fired 8 rounds of tear gas to take the situation under control. The protesters clad after the police tried to open the highway. The protesters have demonstrated carrying sticks. The Janamat Party called for a district-wide strike opposing the arrest of a local farmer and filing the case based on political biases.
