Cadres of the CK Raut-led Janmat Party have staged a protest against the government in Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat. Dozens of cadres, led by party district president Rameshwor Prasad Yadav, marched in Gaur Bazaar with various 10-point demands.
The protestors chanted various slogans like 'Fulfill the legitimate demands of the farmers', 'Release the innocent cadres immediately and unconditionally'. At the corner meeting, Janmat Party Central Vice President Abdul Khan, Central Social Welfare Department Chief Virendra Sah and other leaders said that more than 90 percent of the people of Madhes are dependent on agriculture in some way and the government is discriminating against farmers by not providing fertilizer, seeds and irrigation facilities.
Instead of addressing the legitimate demands of the farmers during their agitation for fulfilling their demands, the leaders had accused the government of oppressing the people and framing the party's cadres of various false charges.
