Kathmandu: Students staged a protest against the rise in prices of petroleum products. Students of Akhil Krantikari affiliated to the Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand Biplav staged a protest in front of Trichandra Campus in Kathmandu on Monday. They even set fire to tires on the main road chanting different slogans. Police extinguished the tyres of protesters by dispersing the protestors. Students affiliated to Biplav's CPN have been protesting against the rise in prices of petroleum products. Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the price of petrol by Rs 3 per liter, diesel and kerosene by Rs 3 with effect from 12 noon on Wednesday. Students have protested against the rise in prices of other daily necessities.
