Locals padlock the Office of Toll Development institution demanding investigation in Butwal

Locals along with Saraswati Galami, the treasurer of Toll Development institution of Butwal padlocked the office of Toll Development institution demanding the proper investigation of the incident where the officials of the institution charged money from the public for housing. According to the demonstrators, the officials of Hattisud Toll Development Institution of Butwal sub-metropolitan-11, took more than RS. 1,00,000 from locals promising to provide housing. Demonstrators claimed that officials traded public land, registered it in the names of their relatives and made the housing their business. The demonstrators also demanded to take the legal action against the police and many journalist who were also involved in this illegal activity. The officials are accused of collecting Rs.18,00,000 and corruption. Likewise, the JaSaPa, Butwal, has also brought their attention to this issue alleging that the officials cannot give away the housing to the people who already have a land ownership in the name of squatters. According to the memorandum of JaSaPa, Butwal, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority should to conduct fair and independent investigation and take legal action against the guilty.
