27-year-old Rohit Danuwar murdered his 72-year-old grandmother Manmaya Danuwar of Katari municipality-7 of Udyayapur by slitting her throat with khukuri on May 26, over the dispute of land ownership registration. Rohit absconded after murdering Manmaya. The newly elected ward chairperson of Katarai municipality-7, Sunita Dhungana alleged that Rohit who was running a restaurant in Kathmandu came to Katari a few days back and started to insist on transfer of land ownership to his name from his grand mother's . She further added that it was suspected that Manamaya refused to give land ownership to Rohit which led to murder.
