Purna Rai, a local of Majhuwagadhi municipality-12, physically assaulted Tanka Rai, a former member of parliament and Chairperson of the Central Discipline Commission of the CPN (Maoist Center) on May 25. According to Tanka Rai, Purna was under the influence of alcohol and was making noise, so when he asked Purna to stop making noise, Purna started a fight with Tanka. Purna sustained injury in the incident. Maoist Center leaders and cadres speculates that Tanka was assaulted in connection with the outcome of the local election.
