Supporters of the Nijgadh development staged a demonstration in Kathmandu against the decision of the Supreme Court to cancel the construction of the proposed Nijgadh International Airport. The demonstrators displayed placards and chanted slogans against the decision of the Supreme Court. Damodar Mainali, a youth leader of Bara, said that caution should be exercised as it was unfortunate that the  Supreme Court's order came the day after the construction of the airport was made public. 

Another participant Nabaraj Poudel said that the people of Bara were ready to demonstrate against the court order. He said that this decision was 100% betrayal of Madhesh Pradesh. He further added that the decision of the Supreme Court was betrayal to the people in Madesh. He warned that if the supreme court didn't revoke this decision, they would continue to demonstrate.
