Farmers of Sukhipur municipality padlocked the ward office on July 8, alleging that the fertilizer distribution was biased. The demonstrators alleged that in the distribution of DAP fertilizer for paddy cultivation, the local agricultural cooperatives and the ward chairman only distributed it to their relatives. Chief Jitendra Kumar Shah informed that out of 11,620 bags of DAP received at Lahan-based Salt Trading Corporation, 650 bags of DAP fertilizer were provided to farmers of 10 wards of Sukhipur Municipality. According to Chief Shah, DAP fertilizer has been sent according to the quota to be distributed through other local level agricultural cooperatives in the district according to the geography of the local level.
