Balaram Shrestha, an Bagmati Civilization Unified Development Committee who was under a monitoring visit on the bank of Bagmati river was assaulted by Subash Ghising, who illicitly run garbage collection center at the river bank since long time. Shrestha sustained injuries on the head and required two stitches. He is under treatment at Nepal Bharat Maitri Hospital in Mitrapark, Kathmandu.
The committee had sent letters three times requesting Ghising to move his collection center away from the river bank, which he rejected. The collection center is located at the Bagmati river bank next to Everest Petrol Pump at Gokarneshor municipality-5.
